Printed Music

I have always improvised during practice. This often leads me away from what it was that I sat down to learn! I don't mind that too much, as long as everything gets done in the end. By 2004, I had realised that I really should do justice to some of the better musical ideas I had just 'floating around'.

The style of my improvised material naturally relied on skills involved in classical guitar playing. It is the nylon-string instrument on which these pieces were mainly written, although I would often switch between that and my steel string acoustic in developing ideas further. In the end, they sit more easily under my fingers on the classical instrument, but I play them on both.
